little bird.

I made this little bird for my mom for Easter. I think it's pretty cute.
it's reversible, so you can display it on either the blue or cream side.

Hope you had a beautiful Easter celebrating the resurrection of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is risen!

quick fixes.

So I had 2 pillows on our guest room bed that I didn't have covers for-- I wanted them to be usable... I found 2 king size pillow cases that I had-- clearly WAY to large for our pillows.

But, I solved the problem-- I folded over the extra fabric, then sewed on buttons that I had.  Here's the finished product!

knitting.

so I saw this on a tv show-- and at first I didn't like it
...but then I did :)
I kinda wanted one too.  So I made my own!
I made it by memory-- looking at her photo now, I probably should've made it thicker.  Oh well, next time!!  It's not an exact replica at all, but I still think it turned out pretty well!  I made mine a different design than the flower too- I love flowers, but not so much on my head.

my new bathing suit!

ok, so I have looked for about 3 years for a comfortable, flattering, appropriate bathing suit... and never have found one! This has been extremely frustrating. So, I gave up on my search, and went to option # 2-- I made my own!

Here's the final product:
*if you want to see how it fits on me, just let me know & I'll email it to you.

How I did it...

1. started out with a women's plus size bathing suit skirt :)   Then I cut out the seams on both sides.
2. made my measurements, and sewed it up to fit my size, as a top!
3. now, I needed a string to add some excitement to the suit... I went for a very old suit I already had, and pulled out the long string that connected the two pieces together-- very easy!
4.  I took some extra fabric, made a little loop & sewed it on the middle of the bathing suit top and slide my string through.

5. finished!!  I already had black bottoms, so my new bathing suit is ready to hit the water!  I'm so glad my search is over!!!
